## What this share is, and is not

This page counts stores: the stores each app assigns to pin codes in Rewalto's weekly checks, each counted once. It does not count orders, sales, revenue or the size of a store. Other sources show different shares because most publish estimates of orders or GMV, and because they differ on which apps they include and what they call a store.

## Share of stores versus share of orders or GMV

A store count says how many stores an app runs. It does not say how many orders each store delivers, how large the baskets are or what the app earns. Two apps with the same number of stores can sell very different amounts, and one app can have fewer stores than another and deliver more. So read this page as a map of who has built how much of the network, not as a measure of who sells the most. Rewalto publishes store counts only, with the date of each count and the method on the page.

## How Rewalto counts

Rewalto finds dark stores by checking which store each app assigns to a pin code, across every pin code it covers, every week. A store is counted once however many pin codes it serves, and a store it stops seeing is marked closed, not deleted. Counts are what the apps show to shoppers, so they are a floor, not a census, and they are not figures from the companies.

Rewalto is not affiliated with any of these apps. Apps are data sources.
