Method and limits
We find dark stores by checking which store each app assigns to a pin code, across every pin code we cover, every week. A store is counted once even when it serves many pin codes. A store we stop seeing is marked closed, not deleted. Map position is shown only when the app reveals it. Counts are what the apps show to shoppers; they are not figures from the companies. BigBasket's delivery check, as Rewalto reads it, names no store, so its named delivery areas are listed separately and are mapped to the store that serves them as our weekly checks read it.
