This post is the timely take. The evergreen how-to is the guide Pin-code shelf truth: price and availability on Blinkit and Zepto, which covers the topic in full.
What is BB Now?
BB Now, written bbnow on BigBasket's own site, is BigBasket's quick delivery service for groceries and essentials. BigBasket also runs slotted delivery, where the shopper picks a delivery window, so BB Now is one of two ways to order from the same grocery business, according to BigBasket's bbnow page, read 2 November 2026.
Shoppers looking for the app itself should go to BigBasket. This post explains how the service works, then spends most of its words on what BB Now means for brands that sell groceries and essentials.
How does BB Now work?
BigBasket's page says bbnow delivers within 15 to 30 minutes, offers 5,000+ grocery essentials and is available only in select cities. Those are BigBasket's own words. Rewalto has not measured how long BigBasket actually takes to deliver, so treat the range as BigBasket's stated promise.
The same page describes slotted delivery as a separate service, with slots from early morning to late night. BigBasket also says it serves 300+ cities and towns across India, a figure for its whole business and not for BB Now alone.
BB Now runs only in some cities because quick delivery depends on dark stores: small warehouses, closed to walk-in shoppers, that fill orders for the neighbourhood around them. Read what a dark store is, or the quick commerce glossary, for the short version.
Where does BB Now deliver, and how many dark stores does it have?
On 2 November 2026 Rewalto counted 925 BigBasket dark stores in 91 cities, 7% of the 13,548 quick-commerce dark stores it found across seven apps. Bengaluru had the most BigBasket stores, 167 of them, according to Rewalto's dark stores in India page.
Rewalto also counts 12,467 named BB Now delivery areas. An area is not a store. When Rewalto checks BigBasket's delivery, the reply names an area rather than a store, so the areas are listed on their own and mapped to the store that serves them.
Keep the two numbers apart when you compare BigBasket with other apps. The store count is the one that lines up with the other apps' counts. The counts are what the app shows shoppers, so treat them as a floor and not as figures from BigBasket.
Who decides whether a brand is listed on BB Now?
BigBasket does. Each app runs its own onboarding, and Rewalto does not onboard sellers or apply on anyone's behalf. The guide on how to sell on Blinkit sets out the same general rule for Blinkit: the app decides who is approved and on what terms, so check the app's own seller pages for documents, fees and timing.
Which shelf questions should a brand ask on BB Now?
The same ones as on any quick-commerce app. Each answer belongs to one pin code at one moment, because each dark store holds its own range and its own stock.
- Listed: does the product show when a shopper searches at that pin code?
- In stock: can a shopper add it to the cart there?
- Price: what is the shelf price, and how far is it below MRP?
- Time: when was it read? A reading without a time cannot be compared with another.
What does Rewalto hold for BigBasket today?
Rewalto's data coverage page listed three BigBasket datasets when read on 2 November 2026: prices and stock by pin code, delivery time by pin code, and dark-store locations and catchments. No BigBasket search rank is listed there.
Rewalto's BigBasket data page showed 36 pins held and 44,184 readings taken on 1 November 2026, updated daily. Rewalto reads BigBasket at fewer pin codes than Blinkit, Zepto and JioMart, and does not offer a fresh read, so reads come from kept data. Check that your pin codes are in the set before you rely on it.
Delivery times are thinner still. Rewalto's delivery time by pin code page lists BigBasket among its sources, but its BigBasket readings are historical, from September and October 2026, while Blinkit is read daily.
A missing reading means unknown, not out of stock. Rewalto is not affiliated with or endorsed by BigBasket. It reads what BigBasket shows shoppers on its public pages, and it is not BigBasket's own feed. To check one brand at one pin code, use the free pin code availability checker, and read pin code shelf truth for why one reading can mislead.
How does BB Now compare with the other quick-commerce apps?
On 2 November 2026 Rewalto counted 5,137 Blinkit, 3,128 JioMart, 1,592 Flipkart Minutes, 1,361 Zepto, 1,360 Swiggy Instamart, 925 BigBasket and 45 DMart dark stores, on its quick commerce share by dark stores page. That is a share of dark stores, not of orders or sales.
Bengaluru had the most dark stores of any city in Rewalto's count. BigBasket had 167 of the 1,310 stores Rewalto counted there, against 405 for Blinkit, 194 for JioMart, 186 for Swiggy Instamart, 177 for Zepto, 170 for Flipkart Minutes and 11 for DMart.
No store count says which app sells most. It says where each app has built stores. To compare one product across apps, read the guide to the same product at different prices across apps.
Where does Rewalto fit?
Rewalto reads India's quick-commerce shelves by pin code and keeps every reading dated. See what is on the shelf at rewalto.com.
